Belly Picture: 39.5 Weeks

39 weeks, 3 days pregnant

So today I didn't get a chance to take my weekly belly picture. I'm honestly feeling so lethargic, I don't have energy to do anything -- not even take a picture. Jorge and I know that Baby G can come any day now, and we are so happy she hasn't come yet because tonday and this week my midwife is the one on call and we want her to be the one that's at the birth. So I've been holding her in until today! Baby G feel free to come out and play now!

Today Jorge and I went out for a walk. We took a 20 minute walk around our neighborhood. I really wasn't feeling up for it, but Jorge motivated me telling me that it would help make me un-pregnant... and I'm all for that right now. I have been having some contractions but nothing major. I'm not even sure if that's what it is because I just feel some pressure and it could just be the baby in a weird position. They haven't been consistant enough to time them yet, so I think these may just be what is called Braxton Hicks Contractions, which are just practice contractions that your body does to prepare for the birth. You can have them weeks before labor begins though. I really have a feeling Baby G is going to make a late appearance... but I'm hoping it's sooner rather than later because on Tuesday I have my weekly doctor's appointment and since I'm due on Thursday my midwife might start talking about an induction if I don't go into labor soon. She doesn't want me going longer than a week past my due date. Which means Baby G should be here by the 14th at the latest. I can't believe we're in the home stretch now! I'm trying hard to stay positive, but I'm honestly so tired of being pregnant, I'm just giving in to being a bit grumpy.

Here are a couple pictures of me before our walk feeling miserable. So tired! And so BIG! Oh, and get a load of my stylin' new shoes -- I got them a couple of weeks ago when my feet started swelling... they've gotten so big that I don't fit into any of my regular shoes anymore. I had to get flip flops that had the adjustable velcro on top -- so fashionable, don't you think, especially with those socks?? Looks like fashion is just the latest casualty of my pregnancy!

Baby G, let's get this show on the road already!!

Belly Picture: 37.5 Weeks

This week the pelvic pain has gotten better, thankfully! But my feet continue to swell. Since I'm now past 36 weeks, I now have to start going in to see the midwife once a week until I deliver. I had my first weekly appointment on Thursday, and you'll never believe it -- I gained 5 1/2 pounds in ONE WEEK! That's just crazyness!!! The midwife says it's mostly water retention, but she was a bit concerned that it was so much. She's concerned it might be high blood pressure, although right now it looks fine. She says she wants to keep an eye on it and asked to see me earlier in the week to see how I'm progressing, so my next appointment is on Tuesday. She again recommended I put my feet up for at least 15 minutes every 2-3 hours. My boss has already started letting me work from home a couple of days this week, and it's worked out well, so I'll see if maybe he'll let me work from home permanently until I give birth. I only have about 2 1/2 weeks left and these next two weeks are short because of the holidays, so hopefully he's ok with it.

Belly Picture: 36.5 Weeks

36 weeks, 3 days pregnant

These last couple weeks have been very exhausting... I'm feeling bigger than ever! I've started to waddle and wake up with horrible pains on my hips in the night. During the day I have pelvic pain, all very uncomfortable. The midwife says it's all normal though and it's because Baby G is head down and is putting pressure on my hips. Only cure is to give birth!

The worst symptom I've had though is my feet! They are sooooooo incredibly swollen! They are unrecognizeable! They look like Flinstone feet! Tree trunks! Cankles! My toes are little Vienna Sausages! Just terrible! For the most part they don't hurt except at the end of the day when they get really big, and then they are just sore and my skin feels really tight. Again, the midwife says this is all normal in the last month of pregnancy. She recommends I put my feet up higher than my heart so and at night this really helps... but at work it does me no good unless I put my feet up on my monitor!

On the belly, Baby G continues to be very very active! We feel her kick and shift all the time! It's very cute, but it also gets very painful. She gets in a terrible position in my ribs and it drives me nuts! Hurts so bad! The midwife showed us how she's laying and we realized that the big bump we keep seeing is her tushy! SO CUTE! Now if she'd only lay off my ribs!

Today was also our last Bradley Class. It was bittersweet to say goodbye to our new friends but at the same time it's exciting to know we're almost there! Just 3 1/2 weeks to go! In these 12 weeks Jorge and I have learned so much! I really feel like I can do this!!! :)

Jorge is finally starting to feel better! His congestion is starting to clear up, but he has a lingering cough. I'm so glad! I've missed him! Even though we're in the same apartment, we're hardly ever in the same room and I miss having him around. :(

Belly Picture: 30.5 Weeks

So my belly button has popped out. Seemed to have happened almost overnight! One minute I was a flat little innie, next minute, my belly button exploded! I also have a bit of linea negra starting to show, where a line appears on the center of my belly. They say it goes away after the pregnancy. At the very least I am thankful I don't have any stretch marks yet! But shhhhhhh... I won't say that too loud! Don't want to jinx it!

Baby G is more and more active every week! We can even see my belly twitching when she moves around. So cute! She also continues to get the hiccups every now and then, especially when I'm trying to get some sleep, haha!

I've been feeling like I have a bit more energy on some days, but others I'm utterly exhausted. We still have much to do!

Jorge is almost done with the pantry, so I'll post pictures of that soon! It looks fantastic!!! He's doing an awesome job!

Here is how big Baby G has gotten this week! She keeps growing and growing! I've gained about 10 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight, with no signs of stopping. Baby G has gone from kicking to rolling around and she likes to poke and kick. She also enjoys hanging out in a particular corner on the right side of my ribs.... not very comfortable for mom!
